   There are 5 laboratories under the department -  3 teaching and 2 research labs:

• Power Electronics (research)
• Electrical Drives (research)
• Power Electronics / Udergraduate projects (teaching)
• Basic Electrical Machines (teaching)
• Pengamalan elektrik (teaching)

State of the art equipment such as high bandwidth oscilloscopes, power meters, LCR meters, spectrum analyzers, frequency response analyzers, dynamometers and torque sensors are available for use at the research as well as the teaching laboratories. In addition, these laboratories are also equipped with among others, DS1102 dSPACE DSP boards, Floating point TMS 320F28335 (Digital Spectrum) DSP boards and state of the art Altera FPGA development systems.
